He was the most caring man, and loved his family fiercely; he worked hard his whole life to make sure we were well cared for. And no one gave a bear hug like Dad. His were the best.
His love affair with our Mom was the stuff of legend, and they had 45 years by each other's side, adventuring together the whole way with love and so much laughter.
Survivors in his wife Ireta, children Heather (Nikki), Amber (Joey), Gustaf and James . Three grandsons, brother David ( Judy) Peterson. We love you Pops.
Thank you for everything.

Kristin Mari Wilson Maar
September 3, 1952 -- March 27, 2022 (Aged 69)
Kristin Mari Maar, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away in Boise, ID peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 27, 2022. She was 69 years old.
Kristin was born on September 3, 1952 to George D. and Florine A. Wilson in Lansing, MI. She grew up in Grand Ledge, MI, where she graduated from high school, and then briefly moved to Florida to explore her independence. After returning to Lansing, she met Allan R. Maar, whom she worked with at Lansing Community College, and they were married in August 1978. Allan preceded Kristin in death in November of 2013. Kristin and Allan had two children: Nicholas Maar (Melissa) and Angela (Donny) Greene. She is survived by her four brothers, David (Diane) Wilson, Stephen (Jerilyn) Wilson, Kevin (Robin) Wilson, and Jonathan (Sheila) Wilson, three granddaughters, Allaina L. Maar (9), Anna E. Maar (5), and Vivienne L. Greene (4), along with nine nieces and nephews. She is, and will continue to be, deeply missed by all.
Kristin had a hard life in many regards, but her spirit, kindness, and generosity would never have let on. Although she struggled with chronic pain for over 50 years, she never let it change her or harden her heart. She had a radiant smile, a listening ear, and a warm hug for anyone and everyone in need. Her body prevented her from doing many things she would have loved, but her biggest passion in life was her children, and watching them live their lives to the fullest. Seeing her children grow, thrive, and begin families and careers of their own was the highlight of her life and she showered her children and grandchildren with love (and often gifts) whenever possible. She spoke about her children often, to anyone who would listen, and it was evident in how she spoke that being a mother and grandmother was her life's work and greatest joy. In her younger years, Kristin enjoyed being a part of the church when her health would allow. She was also an avid reader throughout her life, devouring books almost as fast as we could obtain them, and a die-hard shopper. After Allan's passing, Kristin moved to Boise to be near her daughter. She loved attending Broadway shows with Angela in Boise, taking long drives in the mountains, and weekly lunch dates with her daughter and granddaughter, Vivienne. She learned to play Bridge and joined a group of players in her senior community, as well as serving as the community's resident Vice President. She also cherished her friendships and loved spending time chatting and catching up on the phone with friends and family around the country.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022 at Mills Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Mills Funeral Home, Peters & Murray Chapel, Grand Ledge.
