If you know of any graduates who have passed who are not listed here please email the information, including the year they passed, the date, and for the women their maiden name to:
[email protected] We are only looking "online" for information because we have hundreds of obituaries to research. We realize that there are other resources we could use to look up this information in libraries in electronic or paper format but we do not have the time to dedicate to that. If you have information for someone who has passed please let us know and we will make any changes to information we have previously posted. If we have no other information we will just list “NO INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE” as part of their listing. The obituaries, or other information if it was available for the graduates that have passed, follow the listing. Thank You! |

Born on September 5, 1946, to Clyde and Dorothy (Klecan) Grant, Jr. in South Haven, Michigan. Clyde graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1964, displaying an early aptitude for mechanics and a deep sense of patriotism. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, being drafted in 1966, and later re-enlisting in the Army National Guard. Clyde served for more than 16 years, first as a Sergeant and then becoming an officer. Clyde retired from the Army National Guard as a Captain. In the military, as in all areas of his life, Clyde's ability to lead by quickly assessing a situation and addressing it with confidence and decisiveness, served him well. Following his service in the Army, Clyde enrolled at Lansing Community College and then later Michigan State University.
While attending LCC, Clyde met the love of his life, Linda Spink. They were married on December 13, 1969, at University Methodist Church in East Lansing, MI. They made their home in Williamston and together, they raised four wonderful children - Michael Grant, Laura (Jason Waterwash) Grant, Melissa Cooke, and Rebecca (Jeremy) Smith. Clyde was a devoted father, instilling in his children the importance of honesty, hard work, and family. Clyde's children and their accomplishments were a great source of pride for him.
In addition to his loving wife and children, Clyde is survived by his grandchildren, Brian, Angelica, Annabelle, Reagan, Zoey, Evyn, Abigail, Riley, and Zachary. His siblings, Sharon (Al) Dureich and Dean (Joan) Grant, also survive him. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Dorothy and his brother-in-law, R. David Wilson.
Clyde was a very down to earth man who valued hard work and honesty, leading by example in every area of his life. Clyde was the owner and operator of Goedert's Garage for more than 25 years. He not only repaired cars but also built lasting relationships within the community. It was customary for friends and customers alike to stop into Clyde's shop to chat over a cup of coffee or a Coke. Clyde's handy nature extended beyond his work, often lending a helping hand to others in need. Through a local community support group near his shop and Habitat for Humanity, he helped organize children's activities, community events, and rebuild and repair several houses.
Clyde was a faithful member of Family Life Wesleyan Church. He became a believer in Jesus at the age of 57 with the same vigor he applied to everything he did - organizing, cooking, and leading a weekly church dinner there for many years. Clyde's dedication to his faith, family, and community was evident in his daily life.
Clyde's entire life was guided by a strong moral compass, unwavering honesty and a deep commitment to his family. His friends and family will remember his quick-wit and tenacious sense of humor. He always had a joke or story to share, and had a knack for using humor to lighten the mood of any situation. Beyond his work and service, Clyde's greatest joy was spending time with his friends and family. He loved camping, fishing, and especially music. One of his most treasured pastimes was leading people in singing around a campfire with his guitar.
Clyde will be remembered for his courage, kindness, and handy nature. He left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Through his actions, he taught the importance of hard work, love, and loyalty. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide his family and all who knew him. In honoring Clyde's life, we remember not just the end, but the remarkable journey that was his life. His spirit, strength, and love will forever be etched in our hearts.

Patricia Ann Kenny Lipsey
March 27, 1946 — January 21, 2024 (Aged 77)
Patricia Ann Lipsey, 77, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, departed her earthly home in Okemos in the early hours of Sunday, January 21, 2024, to begin her eternal life in Jesus, her Lord and Savior, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Pat was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on March 27, 1946. She was adopted at the age of two by Harvey and Marguerite Kenney and grew up on their farm on Canal Road west of Lansing. She attended Grand Ledge schools before enrolling at Michigan State University in 1964, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 1968.
Within a week of beginning college, Pat met her future husband, Mike, in a Sunday School class at First Christian Church (Disciples) in Lansing. They were married in the church on June 15, 1968.
When Mike entered the service in 1969, Pat joined him in Indianapolis and then in Washington, D.C., where their daughter, Gillian, was born at Walter Reed Army Hospital. In 1972 the couple returned to Lansing where their son, Matthew, was born at St. Lawrence Hospital.
Pat loved helping people and was involved in numerous organizations, including Christian Women’s Club and La Leche League. She held various offices at First Christian Church, taught Sunday school, and was involved in the Caraway puppet ministry for children. She was a member and group leader in Bible Study Fellowship for many years, participated in Precepts Bible study, and was later involved at New Hope Church.
Pat operated a licensed day care business in her home while her children were young. She helped countless teenagers adapt to new homes and prepare for life in America; she worked with Vietnamese youth for 15 years as well as youth from Haiti, China, and Cuba. She was proud of “her boys,” many of whom continued to stay in touch over the years, sharing their success with her as they completed schooling, found jobs, married, and began families of their own.
Pat loved her children and grandchildren and took great joy spending time with them. She loved planning for the annual “Camp Grandma,” enjoyed shuttling kids to music lessons and sports practices, and made a practice of taking the grandkids to coffee dates before school. Pat was an encourager, and everyone knew the door was always open at Grandma’s house.
