ABOUT US!
The GLHS 50+ Alumni Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 with the intent of bringing together graduates of GLHS annually for a reunion for those who have been out of school for over 50 years. We feel these yearly gathering foster a sense of community, for not only those who still reside in the Grand Ledge area, but for those who still have a connection to Grand Ledge from the days they lived and attended school here. Giving back to the community we grew up in continues to be important to us.
Our annual reunion is held each year, on the third Saturday in May, at Grand Ledge High School in the cafeteria.
Each year we honor the class that has most recently reached the 50 year milestone of having graduated 50 years earlier from GLHS. The class being inducted has reserved seating near the podium. Seating for the "Most tenured" attendees and any of those needing assistance, is located within easy access to the entrance and food serving area. Additional seating will be provided by graduation class year as well as open seating for those desiring that. As part of the event we also recognize any PARENT and CHILD who graduated from GLHS and who are in attendance that have been out of school for 50 years or more.
The cafeteria is easily accessible from the school’s Kent Street entrance. There will be greeters to direct cars and assist you upon arrival. Anyone who has difficulty walking can be dropped off at the door. Handicap parking is also available.
This Annual Reunion offers a great opportunity to visit and renew old friendships.
